Importing
You can import a CSV file, or an HTML file that is exported from Chrome, Edge, DuckDuckGo, or Brave. You'll notice that a tag with the current date is automatically added. It's a good idea to tag your import. You can always remove the tag later.
Others may be supported, but have not been tested yet.
HTML
If you export from Chrome, you can then import the html file it generates. Because Bookmark Squirrel has Groups and Topics, to preserve the file structure of your bookmarks, the folder names will be added as tags. You can then manually assign what Group and Topic they should go into from the Grid View view.
CSV
A CSV import uses a file you would be editing with a spreadsheet program. Use the following columns.
Note The group and topic will be automatically created if they don't already exist. You need to populate both fields. Doing only one will be rejected.

Explanation of fields
| Field | Description |

| group | Applies to the Group, or what page it will be displayed on. Can be empty. |
| topic | Applies to what topic card the bookmark will be shown in. Can be empty |
| name | The title of the bookmark. Must be filled in |
| url | The URL you are saving. Must be filled in |
| tags | A comma separated list of tags. If you have more then one tag, wrap it in double quotes. |
| note | A short one sentence description of what the bookmark is. Handy to when you can't tell from the title. |
| private | A 'y' or 'n' to indicate if the bookmark should be flagged as private. |
